Catherine Duncan,DODr. Catherine Duncan, Interventional Spine Specialist and owner of Atlantic Spine & Pain, is a graduate of Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Case Western Reserve University and MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio and has over 30 years experience in treating patients with pain and disabilities. Dr. Duncan has achieved board certification by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Osteopathic Board of Rehabilitation Medicine and in the subspecialty of Pain Medicine. Prior to opening her own practice at Atlantic Pain Consultants, Dr. Duncan held medical directorship roles at Lorain Community Rehabilitation Center in Ohio, Wake Med Rehab and, Carolina Back Institute in North Carolina, and OFMC Wellness Center in Florida. She is a member in good standing of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Osteopathic College of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Osteopathic Association, and the prestigious International Spine Intervention Society.
As a specialist in Interventional Pain Management, Dr. Duncan uses a combination of modalities to help reduce pain, improve function, and achieve wellness. These include fluoroscopic guided spinal injections, ultrasound guided joint injections and nerve blocks, Botox injections for chronic daily migraines, viscosupplementation for osteoarthritis, Osteopathic Manual Medicine, and regenerative therapies. She is one of only a few physicians in North Carolina offering prolotherapy for musculoskeletal conditions. She works closely with other healthcare providers such as physical therapists, acupuncturists, personal trainers, mental health specialists and chiropractors to maximize well being. She has been treating patients in the Raleigh area since 2000. Dr. Duncan enjoys vacationing with her husband and daughters in the Outer Banks, the mountains of North Carolina and various countries overseas. Before attending medical school, she achieved a Bachelor of Music Degree and was an accomplished Classical Guitarist. She has a Black Belt in karate and has participated in numerous triathlons. Currently, her pride comes from the achievements of her two daughters. One is a filmmaker/producer in New York City, and the other who recently achieved a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine, just like her mother, and is on her way to becoming a psychiatrist. |
